Ethics of using IT application

Recently we were being surprised by the news on politician misbehavior in Indonesia & Malaysia. This is not the first time it was happened. Either it refers to the 'doing of watching pornographic video or being involved in the scene', it presents the value and morale of a person.

This is among the most important issue due to the misuse of technology. Because we already been here; live in the digital era, its been difficult to find the right mechanism about controlling the people misbehavior. Children, teenagers and adults are easily being exposed to pornographic that can be find through the website, social network and advertisement online (Norhaini Mat Lajis).

Refers to an article (Kosmo! April 15), about 97% of secondary school students in Indonesia had access to pornographic sites. A research by Universitas Islam Indonesia finds 90.7% of Indonesia youth had experienced sexual harassment and 68.2% were admit having done sex. It's even more disgusting to find out the data from Associated Press that mentioned Indonesia was the second after Russia in disseminating pornography.

It's about information technology (IT), the tools and applications we are using to find the data, information and everything we want to know. Parents should be aware and responsible about monitoring their children activities in front of computers. However, we could not underestimate the power of IT application for which it falls on the wrong hand, it could be a nightmare to anyone of us. As globalization bring the advantages, it's also come with the weaknesses. IT could become a destructive weapon or useful tools at the hand of it's owner.
